Dangling, unconnected, random thoughts

How will you preserve these moments when you yourself will decay someday,
How will you immortalize these memories when you yourself are mortal

These thoughts make frequent visits every time I'm in a happy space with him, my grandfather.
The fine graceful lines on his face remind me of every effort done to bring a smile on my face. The wrinkles on his forehead seem like the hardened paths of sweat that must have dripped while he was working hard. Aging you see is an ineliminable part of our journey. Every time I look at him I'm only left happy and content. At one, he fixed my red baby chair on his Kinetic and we toured the city almost everyday. At four, my winter afternoons were a delight when he bought my favorite candies. I saw magic when he burned piece of newspaper by positioning his spectacles between sun and paper. At fourteen, he taught me how to ride his kinetic. Today at 18, I still live my best moments when he's around.
Out of the many difficult tasks in life, I realize penning down someone tops the list. Thinking of them, on thoughts one can swing to and fro, climb mountains of them or slumber while overthinking only to wake up numb and inexpressible because of their delicacy and gentleness.
Rumi stated that out beyond the ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there's a field. I wish my perishable self reforms in that field. The reformed self I'm sure will be made of the brimming love and blessings silently sent by many which I'm forever indebted of. The new self will then be capable of preserving moments and immortalizing memories by being imperishable. That self will shine bright brighter than Sirius, the brightest star in universe and will illuminate sacredness, the same piousness my perishable self is seeking.
