Itched by her values and competence enorm, he feeds his ego by oppressing her
only to realise she's a storm, unaffected by his thoughts so deform!
Draupadi, one of the most important women in the Hindu mythology was portrayed weak against the forces. The forces named men. Despite she being the 'avatar' or the incarnation of Goddess Parvati's Kali roop, just like us women today, she too had to face the jibes. Perhaps those sneers she saw clearly depict how less empowered women are supposed to be.
Today, in contemporary times we come forward to say that women empowerment is not a substantial issue because women are already empowered. But is it really so?
This modern period is the witness of barbarism and misconduct in the form of foeticide,rape,domestic violence and even in the shadow of patriarchy irrespective of this century 21st.
After being held up as an object of ridicule on daily basis, a woman dusts off the disregard and walks with her chin up exactly like a phoenix which rises from it's own ashes.
One cannot plumb the innate quality of a sacrifice a woman owns. Yet her safety remains at stake. Poised of resilience,love,compassion and integrity, she upholds the existence of mankind just by being a part. Origin of a child, is a woman. Death rites are performed on the banks of river Ganges, again the mythological GODDESS of nature. Cycle of sustainability begins with a female and ends with the same. Every woman ever born is an embodiment of Drapaudi, the epitome of stability and the nurturer of all.
